Faucigny
5Faucigny gave its name to the ancient province of Faucigny.
Of its prestigious past, it has preserved the ruins of the castle of the Sires du Faucigny. Today, the restored site is the site of pleasant walks from which you can discover Geneva and its water fountain, as well as a dozen church steeples in the surrounding area. The Eglise Saint-François de Sales, built in 1853, has been listed as a historic monument since 2001. Its architecture and decorations are highly representative of the Sardinian period. Two magnificent trompe l'oeil statues are particularly noteworthy. The "Balcons des Grands Prés" hiking trail takes in the hamlets of Les Syords, Chez Padon, Chez Dubois and Chez Philippin, and the serenity of the green Sapiener trails.
